What are these vents for? I have seen many cars around town with detached bumpers, revealing these vents. Are they to relieve air pressure? If so, why are they covered by the bumper? Thanks Oppo

Basically, they are so you can close the trunk. They let air pressure out from when you close the trunk lid.

They let the air escape when you slam the Trunk so the pressure wave doesn't effect the passengers.

Adds 10 horsepower. Covered by the bumper because it's a sleeper.

I know a few builders who mod them for heavy bass set ups, porting the trunk. Not my cup of tea, but yea they're for pressure release.
